At My House

Whilst Lou from Buttons By Lou Lou is taking a break, I thought I'd still post about what's happening "At My House".

Today I have been working on some new things - yeh!

* Christmas Inspired Applique Tees
* Little Girl's Summer Slip Dresses
* Little Guy Tie Applique Tees

I love this Riley Blake fabric

And this Michael Miller Christmas Fabric will be made into some "Christmas Tree" Applique Tees.

At My House

Well I've just got back from a quick trip to Sydney to attend my Nan's funeral. It was lovely to see some old friends and of course my family who are now spread along the East Coast of Australia. It was of course very sad to farewell my gorgeous Nan who was 95 yrs old, but I can only hope that I have some of her longevity genes!

Yesterday afternoon I attended a "Girls Night In" Cancer Council Fundraising Event with a dozen other party plan businesses. It was a great afternoon and I met some lovely ladies. My WillowBlu bags were well received and hopefully I will have some orders and party bookings coming in this week.

So today is all about getting the house back in some sort of order after leaving it in the capable hands of my husband for 3 days! It's a little bit untidy but on the whole, not too bad. Plus I have some sewing to do to finish off an order and then we're going to the park this afternoon to play with friends after school.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and week in your "part of the woods". To play along visit Buttons By Lou Lou.

At My House - Spring & School Holidays

Well today marks the first day of school holidays here in Tassie. I don't mind school holidays as it means more sleep-ins and lazy days and not so many rushing out the door because "we're running late" days.

I haven't got anything specific planned, although I have had a request from Emma to visit Seaworld! - I told her we'll have to put that on the list for next year.

We might visit the museum, go to the park, go shopping, head to an indoor play centre if the weather is bad, visit friends and have some over to our place and I'm sure other things that I can't think of at the moment.

Oh yes and I'm keen to start making some skirts & dresses to add to my online store, so stay tuned!

Here are some lovely blooms that were given to me by a friend last Friday (before the rain). They have filled the kitchen/lounge room with a beautiful fragrance. Let's hope we get lots of sunny days these school holidays.

At My House

Well I had no idea this time last week that today I'd have one more sleep until starting a new job. It all came about very quickly after speaking to my old boss from 5yrs ago. He mentioned my name to a colleague who has purchased a business in town, needed an admin person, I went in for a quick "chat" on Friday and voila I start tomorrow.

I was able to set my own hours, which is fantastic, so I can still pick up my girls from school and childcare. Even though it's an existing business, there is a lot that needs to be done, so it's almost like starting from scratch which should be exciting. I'm not sure what I was thinking though saying I could start this week, when I have The Barn Market on Friday & Saturday.

Oh well, I still have plenty of stock and will be busy today getting as much done as possible. Like these fabric cards, which just need sewing & bagging, then it's on to some applique tees.

At My House

It's a quiet day today. After several late nights last week in the lead up to Mathilda's, today is all about - housework, packing away the market stuff & some relaxation.

My daughter has a "Student Free Day", so there was no need to jump out of bed this morning for the school run.

Here's what I have to tackle:

The mess that is on & around my dining table

The girls have set up a cafe in their playroom, and are also watching "Charlie & The Chocolate Factory".

Hope you're all having a lovely day.

At My House

Well today at my house, I made "Banana Choc Chip Muffins". I had a couple of very ripe bananas that would have been thrown in the bin otherwise and I didn't want to waste them. I make these as mini muffins and get about 60 out of one batch. They are great in school/childcare lunches and the girls love them (so do I!)

I also received a lovely parcel of fabrics from Corrie at RetroMummy and she also included an extra fat quarter of very cute fabric - thanks Corrie! I am still tossing around ideas of how to use all these fabrics, and will be sure to post photos of what they become.

At Our House

"Fairy Grotto"

Miniature Fairies

Plaster Fairies decorated by Sophie (3yrs)

I'm joining in the play along blogging fun over here at Buttons by Lou Lou. This week's theme is "At Our House".

With 2 young girls in the house their is always a lot of pink & fairy paraphernalia about. After a trip to the "Faerie Shop" at Salamanca on Saturday we have come home with more trinkets to add to the collection. So my daughter Emma has built a "Fairy Grotto" in the corner of her room. There is also a miniature collection of fairies in a tin music box. To add to that the girls have been busy making plaster fairies (with dad's help) & painting them in lovely rainbow colours - so cute!
